gj r) —it comes as an enigma passin" strange that where the Government of a country is powerless to purge the same from manifold viceproducing agencies, has purged its educational system of the grand vir-tue-producing agency, it should pose gloriously as an avenger of crime. If these evil agencies cannot be removed, then, in the name of a grain of consistency (or shame), "draw it mild" for the victims.—l am, etc.,
