The Cyclists' Despatch Rae.tt at th«f recent military gymkhana was art amusing: affair, Serg-t. Geo. Henning seemed to have the race at his mercy, but he got mised up with his machine at the last hurdle and lost. The world's championships are to be held on the 7th, 11th and 14th July, the venue this year being BerA despatch from Paris dated 19th includes the following: — Thd match between Grogna and Major Taylor yesterday at Verviers marked an important date in the European career of Taylor. On this exceedingly rough track, the difficult riding- of which is familiar to Grogna, and oa which the little Belgian had nevaf bee|n defeated, the black champion won where Jaquelin, Toinmaselli, ana Meyers were defeated. From Germany to Belgium, from Belgium to France, from France to England he will go and everywhere demonstrate his supremacy.

An earlier despatch, referring to a former race says;— Fully 4500 spectators assembled at the Friedenau track yesterday to witness Taylor's second * race in Europe, and the one which the critics called the decisive one—the one which would prove to Europe if the Major were really the gTeat rider so much heralded or simply a first-class man able to. win like> any other one.
