Wind: Moderate to strong from between nonh-west, west, and south, and all places north of East Cape, Taupo, and Raglan, but from between southwest, south, and south-west elsewhere. Sea heavy on eastern, coast south ot East Cape" but decreasing after ten hours.

Tides generally good. Cold weather will continue generally. Synopsis of the last 24 hours. Strong westerly winds have been prevalent northward of Napier and New P.ymouth, strong gaie from the southward on the East Coast between Timaru and East Cape. Rain has fallen ra most parts of the country. The weather has been very cold everywhere. There was frost last night in parts of the South Island.
