A JOURNALISTIC TRIUMPH.

One of the biggest "scoops," to uso the journalistic term, made in connee* tion with the Royal visit was that achieved by the "Graphic" last week* On Friday' morning a very large edition of the special number containing a pictorial record of the Duke**; pro* gress was printed, and at two o'clock on the following day the issue was exhausted. The sale quite exceeded the most sanguine anticipations: The paper was literally rushed from thei moment the first" copy appeared. And the demand still continues little aba.-* cd. On Saturday evening and all 'today applications and orders for copies have been flowing in on the publisher, who has but one answer, "Sold OUI-'*

To satisfy that demand by the issuer of a second edition would have been; out of the question, as the whole resources of the "Graphic" staff and machinery had to be employed in get* ting ready the second Royal Number, which will be better even than tti« first. Those who have not been sue* cessful in securing a copy of the latter will find in its successor a not} less valuable souvenir of the Royal visit to Auckland. The pictures of. the Duke among the native tribe* and marvels of Rotorua will be unique* The "Graphic" photographers have secured magnificent results, and thei proprietors have decided to spare neither labour nor money in making th* production first in the field. For particulars of the number we refer oue readers to the advertisement in ano* ther column.
