HUNTING.
Tlie Pakuranga , hounds t met at ..the railway siauo_i, Papatoitoi, on Wednesday, and proceeded to Mr John Wyllie's property. After a long search a hare was found in a field of young oats, and gave a strong run over a paddock of young grass and some ploughed land, and over a gully in which a salt water creek was found to be impassable, and huntsman and followers had to make a detour. Puss doubled back and was at last killed near the railway station. The following ladies took an active part:— Mesdames Kelly, on Steeltrap; Crowe on Dick; Foresythe on Jim; Misses Ralph on Snowy; Muir on Pills; Gorrie on Jimmy; Rae on Pohutakawa; Buckland on Comet; Roberts on Mollyhawk; M. Buckland on Villiers: and Griffiths on Mischief. Messrs J. E. Ralph, master; W. Ralph, Tonks, Cotter, Adams, Buckland, Wells .Carmina, Lewis, Crowe, Board, and Purchas were the gentlemen riding. Miss G. Rae received a fall through her mare blundering at a ditch and. getting caught in some wire. Mesdames Tonks, Buckland, and Ralph were driving. Mrs Wyllie, Junr., provided afternoon tea.
