Tributers in the Nonpareil mine crushed 10 loads of ore and 25lbs of picked stone for a return of bullion worth £72 10/9. HAUEAKI MINES, LIMITED. Operations "were parted in the mine on May 20, and according to instructions men are ready to extend the intermediate between levels 2 and, 3. The drive has beeu straightened and the tramway laid a distance of 40ft. Two men are working- in the face for a few shifts, and there is an improvement in the country coming- in now. FOUR-IN-HAND RETURN. The return for the last month's work at the New Four-in-Hand Company is again a satisfactory one. Mr W. Holg~dte, managing- director, reports the battery has crushed and treated 85 tofls of ore for a return of 17.60z lldwt of melted gold, valued at £2 18/3 per oz: total £514 4/. At the mine, driving on reef No. 1, Cuirassier lead lias been continued. The reef at the intermediate level has now been driven on for -t^-distance of 300 ft and connected with No. 3 level with two rises; Stopins on No. 1 and No 2 blocks has also been continued, and the quartz both from stopes and drives being of excellent quality.
