SUPREME COURT.
CRIMINAL SESSIONS
At the Supreme Court on Saturday afternoon, before Mr Justice Conolly, the trial of John Hyland, charged with cattle stealing at Hikurangi, was continued. The jury failed to agree, and at k p.m. were discharged. A fresh trial will take place.
Louis Rollind, a seafaring man, was found guilty of an unnatural offence upon a boy and was sentenced to ten years' imprisonment with hard labour.
This morning the Court began the trial of Archibald McKee, charged with the theft of gum to the value of £48 17/9, the property of Ralph Montgomery, of Wai kino. The accused, who pleaded not guilty, was defended by Mr J. C. Martin. The Hon. J. A. 'Tole conducted the prosecution. The case vvs proceeding all day. .
