COROMANDEL FOOTBALL.

COEOMANDEL, this day.
The opening1 match of the season was played in the Kathleen paddock on Saturday afternoon between learns from the Goromandel volunteers and civilians. In consequence of the inclement weather, there was only a moderate attendance of spectators. The game was well contested throughout, resulting in a win for the civilians by 8 points (two tries, one converted) to nil. For the winners, Kerr, Winter. Daley, and McCormick were most conspicuous, whilst Mur^ dock, Wood, and Wilson did yeoman service for the volunteers. The takings at the gate were devoted to the Hospital funds.
