■WELLINGTON, this day.
Wind: Moderate to strong from between north and west and south-west at all places north of Napier and New Plymouth; gale from between north-eas.. and north and west, thence south-ward to Kaikoura and Holdtlka, and from between north and west and south-west elsewhere.
Barometer: Fall everywhere. Sea- Heavy on all western coast and on eastern coast between Castlepoint and Lyttelton: moderate elsewhere. Tides- High on all western coast, ami on east coast southward of Castlepoint: moderate at all. other parts. Rain may be expected in all parts, of the country, and heavy in the Sotitn issignals for northerly sales are exhibited at Capes Campbell, Foulwind and Farewell Spit. Synopsis of the lasts 24 hours: Decreasing pressure everywhere. with moderate to strong northerly winds. Rain has fallen at most places southward of Wanganui and Castlepoint, and has benn heavy in Otago. Low pressure from west will pass eastward of the meridian of South Cape to-day ,and one from the same direction about the 3rd June.
