L.OT>. timber .shares sold to-day at 31/, and more could be placed at the same figure. Kauri Timber contributing shares were asked lor, but as only JOd was offered no transactions took place. Inquiries were made to-day for Avomlalc Brick and Pottery shares at is/, bin sellers did not quote. D.S.C. shares had demand at 0/, Northern Steam (contributing issue) at 8/9, and Taupiri Coal at 18/. Auckland' Gas shares had more attention to-day, buyers offering £13 8/ for old and £10 17/6 for new issue. Insurance stocks were neglected, the only buyer quoted being for N.ZAs at 69/6. Bank of New Zealand shares were in request at 53/. In mining stocks sales of N.Z. Crowns took place at 12/, with bu\#rs left at 11/9. Talismans had enquiry at 24/, and Waihis at £3 15/, but no .sales were reported. Chelmsford ' shares firmed slightly, being now wanted at 2/3. Barrier Beefs had buyers at 3/2, and Woodstocks at 5/9. Cheaper Waihi stocks had buyers at late rates. Tn Thames lines there were no transactions, but Welcome Jack shares were better, buyers offering 6^d without Bales being made.
