THE ROTORUA ARRANGEMENTS.
Mr T. E. Donne, superintendent of the tourist truffle, and Captain P>oscuwen, hon A.D.C. to the Governor, returned from Rotorua yesterday, where they have been making' arrangements for the Royal visit to that place. The Duke and Duchess find suite will. occupy the whole of the (fraud and Palace Hotels and part ut Lake House. The road to Waio'itpn will be closed to the public on the day of their Koyal Highnesses' visit to that place, and no outside visitors will be allowed at the hotel: The arrangements at Rot.orjfia are in a very forward estate: The racecourse has been g-ot ready i'or the Maori display, and stands of six and eight tiers have been erected. A line double arch is beirvfj- [.nit up opposite the Grand Hotel. The Maoris are spending- most of their time in hakas, in anticipation of the display before their Royal Highnesses. THE BROOKLYN. Mr F. Dillingham, U.S. Consul for Auckland, has received the following telegram from the Right Hon. the Premier:—'"Many thanks for your wire re the flagship Brooklyn. We will be pleased to see her in New Zealand waters, and they will receive a hearty welcome." WOMEN'S PRESENTATION. A meeting1 of the committee for the presentation to the Duchess of Cornwall and York from the women of the province of Auckland was held today at Mr Rattray's room. A meeting of the tenants of the Victoria Arcade will be held at 10 a.m. to-morrow, at the Builders' Room in the Arcade, to consider the matter of decorating- the building- and to <;lect a con i mi flee.
