(Received May 20, 10.55 p.m..)

BRISBANE, May 20.

The two main streets, from the landing point to Government House, have been, beautifully converted into avenues of palms. Queen-street is festooned with greenery. In. Georgestreet the most striking feature is an fiborigiual aich, in the form oi a pyramid, covered with titree bark, ornamented elk horns, birds' nests, ferns in bark, and gunyah. On each pediment are two gins, and two piccaninies, and fifty blacks stand in pairs on the steps up to the apex of the pyramid, which is surmounted by a giant grass tree. Victoria Bridge is a mass of flags, streamers, garlands, and palms. The Duke and Duchess of York reached Government House at nine o'clock this morning. The weather was beautifully fine. The party disembarked quietly a couple of miles outside the city, and reached town without their presence being known. At three o'clock the Duke and Duchess and suite, who had embarked aboard the steamer Lucinda, landed at the Municipal Wharf. They were received by the Mayor, and an address was presented. As the procession moved through the city, the greatest enthusiam.' was manifested. BRISBANE, this day. Twenty addrr-sses of welcome were presented to the Duke of York. The illuminations, though not on a large scale, were well arranged and tastefully designed.
