PIAKO COUNTY COUNCIL.
The above Council met atMorrinsville on Friday. The Waikato Hospital Board wrote asking for a payment on account of the Council's contribution of £419. .CCO on account was passed. The Council decided to reconsider its decision to call for tenders for the annual supplies of timber, nails, horsefeed, etc., and the Chairman gave notice to move to rescind the resolnttion bearing on the question. The Lands Department advised that the Council had been granted £100 for work on Thomson's track. This vote is in lieu of the £200 originally granted and forwarded to the Tanranga County Council by mistake, and spent by that body on the Tauranga end of the track. The Council expressed dissatisfaction,at the smallneas of the vote /or such an extensive work. Foreman Mahood reported that the road making machine was working in a most satisfactory manner. The Treasury notified that £60 subsidy for repairs to the Waiorongomai tramway had been placed to the Council's credit. The Foreman in charg-e of the tramway reported that the revenue for the month was £31 13/6, and the expenditure £24 12/. Mr Hardy, proprietor of the mining property at Waioi'ongomai, requested a reduction of the hauloge charges on the tramway from 3/6 to 2/6, when the number of trucks brought down exceeded 120 per month. The request was declined. ! .
