ALLEGED ATTEMPTED MURDER.

CTIRISTCHDKCn, this day. The charge against Win. Joho Wilding, of attempting to murder his wife by cutting her throat with a razor, was gone into to-day. The evidence showed that on February 4th last Wilding, under influence of drink, went home. A quarrel followed, and the prosecution allege that he attacked his wife with a razor, afterwards cutting his own throat. The defence was that Mrs Wilding inflicted the injuries on herself in an attempt to snatch the razor out of \wr husband's hands.

Wilding was found guilty of assault and sentenced to six months' imprisonment the sentence being subsequently reduced to three months, in view of the fact that accused had been in gaol awaiting trial since February 4.
