THE LIVING UNION JACK.

This exhibition promises to be n great success. The Public Schools Association have taken the matter up enthusiastically, and have the training of the children in hand, and we understand that the Catholic schools and, in fact, all the denominations, are joining the exhibition. The ground opposite, the Municipal Buildings has been very kindly granted by Mrs Philson, and it and the adjoining Coburg Place is to be fenced off to reserve the space for the children forming- the Living Union Jack, for other school children belonging- to the public schools, orphan homes, etc., and it is also intended to allow by special ticket from Lieut.-Colonel White, the wives of the volunteers on duty on June ]1 admittance, or if there is no wife, and there is a widowed mother, she will receive the ticket. The ground is to be covered with tan or sawdust for the convenience of the children, as it is quite beyond the means of the Ileception Committee to build a platform for such a huge space. The children, under the supervision of their teachers, will be perfectly safe, and will thus see the procession without risk, and as it is a unique event, no doubt it will be a memorable occasion in their lives.
