\ MEMORABLE OCCASION
The glories of the regal reception aocorded the Duke and Duchess of York by the Victorian capital which have illuminated our columns are reflected' with still greater effect in the pictorial pages of the "Graphic." That journal, has been the first in this colony to publish pictures of the great occasion Australia has witnessed. In its issue 'tins week is a most interesting series oli views dealing with the unique event. They include « full page picture of the Duke and Duchess on the bridge of the Ophir, another picture of the Royal party standing on deck as the vessel nears the Melbourne wharf, a third of j the Duke descending the gangway, and a number of photogravures of the Melbourne streets, with the triumphal arches and decorations in honour of the Duke. , Among the secondary features of the number is a most interesting selection from the letters of the late Dr. .James Chalmers, who was recently murdered; in Xew Guinea. Accompanying these* is a number of . PICTURES OF NEW GUINEA, some beautiful selections in the way of native scenery, together with a fine page of views "of Te Awamutu, will attract attention. The medals struck to commemorate the termination of the war, portraits of the officers of the Seventh Contingent, of the Aratapu Football Club, a reproduction of the painting of.her late Majesty, presented to the Auckland Club by Colonel Burton, THE PAKURANGA HUNT Club's first meeting, and many other attractions may also be referred to.
