WHANGAREI COURT CASE.

A case of considerable Interest vras taken before the Justices of Peace during this week, being a charge of criminal assault upon a married woman named Willis, residing near Ngungurn, against a youth named Fergusson. Messrs Bedlington and Griffin, J.'sP., were on the bench. Serjeant Moon prosecuted on beha'f of the police. Considerable evidence was taken, and accused ■vv-ns committed to tike his trial at the next sitting of the Supreme Conrt in Auckland, ball amounting to £300 being allowed. This case was commenced on Friday and closed on Monday.
