HUNTING.
The Pakuranga Hunt Club met at J Ellerslie yesterday afternoon, and f there was a fairly large muster of members and others intent on taking-
an active part, while the roads presented an animated appearance. It was unfortunate that country hitherto hunted over in the vicinity of the Harp of Erin Hotel was yesterday not available, owing to some of.the paddocks on the One Tree Hill estate being grazed with pedigree stock. As a consequence the scoria, country in the vicinity of Panmure was tried, and a line was taken towards Penrose, where the Huntsman was able to show some sport, the hounds running well round about Mrs Bailey's homestead, near Sylvia Park, on the hill plantation scoring a kill. A large number of ladies took part, noticeable amongst whom were the Misses Gorrie, riding Jimmy and Starlight respectively;! Buckland (2), on Popgun and a grey, respectively: Griffiths, on Xeek-or-Nothing; Kerr-Taylor, ou Niinrod;! Adams, on Brown Bess; Rae, on Pohutakawa; Stribley, Tonks, and Leece. Amongst the members were Messrs Somers, on Charcoal; Eliott, on Cragsman; Rae, on Natation;; Franks, on The Swimmer; Purchas, Crowther, Cotter, Hall, Board. ,K_rilwell, Carmina, Clarke, and Col. Dawson.
