THE CENSUS. EDEN COUNTY.
The census enumerator, Mr. J. King-, has now completed the returns for the County of Eden, including Auckland and surrounding boroughs, as follows:
The districts on the northern shore of the harbour are to be added to these as follows: Devonport Borough, 3814; Birkenhead, 1490; Takapuna, 856; Northcote, 769; a total of 6929. This, added to the above totals for Auckland and suburban boroughs and the County of Eden, makes a grand total of 76,028. The grand total for the same districts in 1896 was 05,308, the increase in five years thus being 11,320.
