WEST COAST SHIPPING TRADE.

GREYMOUTH, Tuesday.
A large and representative meeting of merchants and importers was held last evening to consider the advisabilitw of forming a shipping company to work the. West Coast trade. An iadignant protest was made at the lax manner of carrying- cargo by the Union Company; also at the excessive passenger charge. It was unanimously decided to interview the importer* on the coast', and a strong committee was appolnleo to see what support will be offered. ~
