The manager telegraphed yesterday a't'iern,oon:—"Crushed T loads from the msiin reel', yielded <>OZ fidwt; and 10 loads from the leader liioz lldwt: total value, £57 15/5." .MAY QUEEN EXTENDED. The Hokianga reef in the low level, eastern face, is still divided into a number of ribs of quartz, which vow appear to be coming closer together. The footwall rib is six to eight inches in thickness. Very fair mineral indications prevail, and the country is improving. In the western face the reel' formation is one foot in width, and at last breaking clown colours of gold were seen, ('rushing is proceeding. PROGRESS-CASTLE ROCK. Reynolds reef in the slopes from No. 2 pass is improving with development. Twenty pounds of picked stone came to hand during the past week", whilst 321bs of picked stone w<re crushed for .'> yield of 1.c'07 ,7dwl retorted gold, worth about £50. BUNKER'S HILLNo. 2 stope ha.s been discontinued, the ore not being up to expectations. A No. 10 stope will be taken in hand. ttelow No. 2 level sinking is proceeding on the run of gold. At present the quartz is only about two inches! wide, but shows colours occasionally- : A parcel of 20 tons of on- will be treated this week.
