« THE CHAMPIONSHIP MATCHES

The championship of the Auckland Ladies' Golf Club has been won by Mrs W. R. Bloomfield, who defeated Mrs George Bloomfield in the final by seven up and six to play. The winner secures the handsome silver salver presented by the Auckland Golf Club.

The following is the draw for the first round of the Auckland Golf Club's championship, which has to be completed on or before Saturday next: — Peel plays Dr. Reid, Leatham plays Colbeck, Bamfprd plays Harold Gillies, Hooper plays H. Gillies. C. Gillies, Lawrenoe, Sykes and Walker have byes in the first i*ound.

In the second round the matches will be played as follows:—C Gillies plays Lawrence, the winner in Peel v. Dr.*Reid plays the winner in Leatham v. Colbeck, the winner in Bamford v. Harold Gillies plays the winner in Hooper v. H. Gillies, Sykes plays Walker.
