WAIITT, this day. The meeting , for the annual election of a school committee took place last night, at Waihi, when there was a large attendance of householders. Tin; Rev. .1. .7. Bates was chairman. The annual report was adopted. There were 15 nominations for the committee. Upon a ballot being taken the following were elected: —G: Moyes 17:5, W. Dance 16S, T. Palmer 167, 0. Colebrook 150, P. McGregor 147, 11. Carter 147, T. Gilmore 131, J. Lang 105, 11. Heady 81. At a meeting held subsequently Mr H. Carter was elected chairman, Mr Lang , secretary, and Mr G. Moyes treasurer.
