COMPENSATION CASES.

WELLINGTON, Monday
The Compensation Court has given .judgment in the cases in which claims were made against the Kelburne and Karoi'i Tramway Company for land taken for, and property injuriously affected by, the continuation of the company's line from Lambton Quay to the Botanical Gardens. ln the claim of the Key. \V. M. Fell, for £21100, the Court awarded £740 12/0, without costs, the award to cover all subsidences unless caused by new work. In A. .1. Little John's claim for £450, the Court awarded £230, without costs, not. fo apply to future subsidences. George Bastin's claim of £000 was reduced to £441, without costs, the award to be reduced by £00 if the rent is reduced. Owen McArdle's claim for £450 was reduced to £259, without costs, the award to be reduced by £31 if the rent is reduced. The company is also required to maintain a bridge to give access to the property of one claimant, and a protecting wall in another case. In each ease the respective parties are to pay the fees of £7 7/ per day of their assessors.
