AUCKLAND PRESBYTERY.

Tho monthly meeting of the Auckland Presbytery was held In St. Andrew's Church last evening. The Moderator (Rev. B. Wyllle) presided, and there was a good attendance of ministers and elders. The Rev. Wyllle was re-elected Moderator for the incoming year.

Sympathy.—On the motion of Rev. R. Somerville, the Presbytery passed a resolution expressing deep regret at the death of the late Rev. John Gow, of. Opotlki, nnd sympathy with deceased's family. A motion was also passed unanimously expressing sympathy with the* Rev. R. F. Macnlcol (of St. James's) in his Illness, and granting him leave of absence till he had sufficiently recovered to resume his duties.—Mr McKianoy said tliat if there was one clergyman beloved beyond all others, it was the Rev. Mr Macnicol.

Pukekohe.—The report of the commission appointed to consider the question of the division of the Pukekohe district was road' At a meeting in the district It was decided that the time was ripe for Ihe division of the district Into two charges, to be mimed Pukekohe and Pokeno. The division would give an Income of £173 and £90 respectively, and to the latter would be added £25 from the Church Extension Fund.—The report was adopted.

Thames.—Rev. G. Monro stated that he had moderated the call for the Thames Church, which had been vacant for about six months. The name of Rev. A. D. Thompson, of the Otago Church, was unanimously chosen. There were now only 94. members on the roll, and 84 had signed the; call.—Mr Wood, commissioner, said that the salary would remain at tho old figure, £250 a year and a manse.—Tho call was: sustained and ordered to be forQarded to' the Presbytery at Oamaru. j

St. Andrew's.—The Rev. Somerville, Moderator, announced that the congregation had.given a call to th«Kev. H. B. Gray, who has been giving Supply for three months.—The Commlshioner said the church had been vacant for over a year. The call was practically unanimous.—The call was placed in the hands of Rev. Gray, and was accepted

Visitor.—The Rev. It. Mntthew. of Ecucha, was Introduced to. the Presby(|>ry, and wns welcomed by the Moderator and members. . .

Suva;—A request from the Suva Church thnt Rev. Thompson bo allowed to remain at Fiji another year was declined, the Wnipu congregation refusing to alow the extra leave.—The Secretary of the Suva Ohnreh wrote asking the; Presbytery to Include Fiji in the Auckland district till next May; wiion the matter would come before tho congregntion.r-It was decided that the matter remain in abeyance until the congregation hnd considered it.
