ELLERSLIE TRAINING NOTES.

On Friday afternoon Formula and La Gloria on the course proper with. their shoes off were sent a mile. Formula finishing1 in front. This morning some good work was done, Zealous had the best of Itagabrash in a six furlong- gallop, and Seahorse ran right away from Bluejacket over a mile and a half on the tan, the Auckland Cup winner evidently not being in a galloping humour. Seahorse, however, went well. St. Peter and St. Ursula were sent a strong mile on the same track. Wright had Laetitia, Koseila, Beddington and Hastings on the course proper outside the hurdles, each with the colours up, and Laetitia beat Eosella and Beddington quite six lengths, being in front the last five furlongs. Glasgow joined in down the back. The gallop was not a very instructive one. Eosella and Beddington appeared to be about equally matched but Beddington only got on terms in the run home. Boreas ran along at a strong pace over a few furlongs. Hohoro ran six furlongs, assisted over the last five by Sparkling Water. Nonette, Miss Lottie, and Kissaline brushed along at nearly top speed over half a mile. Plain Jack and Romantic did some useful schooling work in company, Cavaliero also jumped a few hurdles. Bayntree galloped a mile, Blue Paul bringing him home. Useful work was got through by other horses engaged at the meeting, but nothing special has to be recorded.

After breakfast Record Reign cantered a round and then galloped a mile pleasingly. Rattler beat Shellback over Jive furlongs. St. Paul put in two circuits at a strong pace brushing home over three furlongs. Peerage and Admiral llawke were gallope-d over six furlongs in company, and Orange and Blue and Despatch five furlongs. Auld Reekie, Tuirne and Dingo ran a. mile and a half over hurdles on the course proper. Auld Reekie led for a mile, when she struck a hurdle and fell back last, Tuirne going on in front of Ding.) to the finish. Fieewill and Tim followed wi h pleasing work over the same ground.
