The Hamilton Borough Council met on Friday evening, when it was decided to request the committee to frame building regulations for the borough. The "Valuer-General notified that the valuation of the borough would cost fifteen pounds, and would be carried out forthwith. A number of alterations to the vajuation roll were agreed to. It -was decided to remove the plan of Sydney Square, showing the oak trees and the names of the members of the Fourth Waikato Militia who planted tnem, to the library, at the request of Mr Coates, formerly Mayor, who presented it to the Council. The contribution of £40 was passed to the Hospital Board, and an account of £16 16/ for the entertainment of the Imperial troops at Franktoii on the occasion of the Rotorua- trip was passed for payment. The Mayor was thanked for the prompt action taken in the matter. The plan of Heaphy Terrace, which was objected to, was referred back to the committee lot their report, the Council objecting to the allotments being laid out five chains by one chairman. The Works Committee reported that the Hamil* ton baths had been dismantled in accordance with the wishes of the Council. A number of gravelling and levelling works were authorised, and the forming of the footpath on the east side of Anglesea-street was agreed to. Dog and pound fees amounting to £10 were received. The overdraft when accounts are paid will stand at £773. The Domain Board meeting was adjourned until Thursday next.
