WAIKATO MARKETS.
Ihe Hamilton live stock sale was held on Thursday. About one hundred head of fat cattle wero brought forward, for which there was a fair demand. Best quality steers were somewhat easier than at lasc sale, and two pens from Tuhlkaramea topped the market at £7 15/; Store cattle and young stock were in keen demand at an advance on late rates, and every lot was sold. The sheep pens wero fairly well filled, and bidding was brisk at late values. Pigs were in moderate supply, but showed a drop in prices of .from 1/ to 2/ per head. Prices were as follows: Small calves, 31/ to 36/; good calves, 38/ to £2 4/; steers, £2 9/; 18-months steers, £2 15/ to £3; do heifers, £2 to £3; two^ year steers, £3 5/ to £3 15/; three^year steers, £5 15/; empty cows, £2 15/ to £4 5/; bulls, £3 5/ to £3 10/; fat cows, £4 to £5 17/6; fat heifers, £8 10/ to £4 10/; fat steers, £G 11/ to £7 15/; dairy cows, £3 17/6 to £5 1/. Sheep: Fat ewes, 8/6 to 13A; fat wethers, 15/6; fat lambs, 6/6 to 13/; rams, 10/ to 15/. Pigs: Weaners, 3/ to 7/6; slips, 8/ to 15/6: spw* in pig. 30/. Before the sale a qTTat?**? or saw milling plant was disposed of, and a section mi house at Whatawhatg. sold to Mr U. Sutton for £40.
The marriage of Miss Annie Brigham, daughter of Mr J. M. Brigham, secretary of the Auckland Harbour Board, to Mr F. G. Jacobs, R.N., of H.M.S. lyarralsatta, was solempised at St. Mary's Cathedral this afternijoii. The shipping in port wbs decorated with bunting1 to-day In honour of the e^ent. Mr E, H. N. Harrison has been retnrned unopposed as a member of the Coromandel Coxinty Council, for the Haratanng-R Riding', in place of Mr P. Brodie, resigned.
