THE RAINBOW DEFEATED.

WELLINGTON, Saturday.

At the Port Nicholson Yacht Club's races to-day the yacht Waitangi easilydefeated the Auckland boat Rainbow over a thirteen mile course in a onereef breeze. Starting 2min ssec after Rainbow Waitangi finished 2min 41sec in front, and as the latter was in receipt of lOmin time allowance she therefore won by 14min 4teee. Rainbow was sailed by Mr E. C. E. Mills and Waitangi by Mr D. Howard.

[The Waitangi is an Auckland built yacht as well as the Rainbow.].
