Special memorial services were heldl yesterday morning' and evening in the? Devonport Presbyterian Church, and! in the afternoon in the Takapunal Presbyterian Church. The services,! which were well attended, were con-g ducted by the minister, the liev. it.| Ferguson. The "Dead March" was* played at Devonport by Mr Englanclj and at Takapuna by Mrs Bradstreot

Memorial services were also held in other places of worship. At three o'clock Mr. Hemery gave an address at the V.M.C.A. on " Victoria, the Great White Queen," and a memorial service was also held in the City Hall at night, at which special hymns were sung and addresses delivered suitable to the occasion. "Victoria, the Good Queen," was the subject dealt with at the Devonport Congregational Church by the Rev. B. L. Thomas, at the morning service, and in the evening he preached about " A Nation's Bereavement." At three o'clock in the afternoon Mr. W. S. Potter held a memorial service at the Waterview Primitive Methodist Church, and similar services were held at Richmond Road, Pitt and Edwin Streets, Eden Terrace, Mount Roskill, and Surrey Hills Primitive Methodist stations. The Auckland Unitarian Church held a memorial service in the Oddfellows' Hall, Pitt Street, last evening, the building being draped with black. The Rev. W. Jellie, 8.A., preached. At the Free Methodist Church, Mt. Eden, the Rev. J. Benning conducted a memorial service in the evening, taking for his subject, " Our late Beloved Queen." A memorial service was also held at the Central Mission, Albert Street, when the Rev. H. J. Walker preached. In connection with the Helping Hand Mission memorial services were held at the Foresters'! Hall, Newton, and the Freeman's Bay Hall.
