SELATI RAILWAY CASE.
LOIDON, January 24
Last year judgment was given by the "Brussels Court in a criminal prosecution instituted by Dr. Leyds, the Transvaal representative in Europe, against Baron Oppenheim, his brother, and four other persons, in connection with the promotion oC the Selaii Railway Company in Belgium to build the Selati railway in the Transvaal. The two Oppenheims and the advocate, Henri Warnant, were found guilty and sentenced to
one year's imprisonment. Terwagne was sentenced to six months.' imprisonment, and Louis Warnant. and Braconnier were acquitted. On appeal the Brussels Court confirmed the acquittal of Louis Warnant and Braconnier, but increased the sentence passed on Eugene Oppenheim to three years' imprisonment, and that on Henri Warnant to 18 months. Terwagne's term of imprisonment was increased to twelve months, Robert Oppenheim is reported to be ill.
