Business places were closed for two hours to-day. Several thousands assembled i"he Octagon, where the Mayor rend the proclamation Cheers were cnled for the King, and the band played a verso of the National Anthem The crowd joined in singing "God Save the King." The Mayor delivered a brief address, The Town Hnll bell rang n merry peal, and the "B" Battery fired a salute.
