'"OW DO?"
The following little poem appeared in v recent issue of the '-Natal Mercury":— 'OW DO? 'OW DO? -OW DO? 'Ow do, Sir Redvcrs Buller? 'Ow do? 'Ow do? 'Ow do? We've watted long to see yer, We knows wot yer can do.' You've giv' ole Kruger stoushing An 'is quietus too, We're very pleased to see yer, 'Ow do? 'Ow do? 'Ow do? Wen fust of all yer utarted, It llummoxod not a few, "The job" yer meant to tackle "Would take six men to do. Six blokes as good as Buller, Tor see the business through." Yer waded in an' conquered. 'Ow do? 'Ow do? 'Ow do? We're very proud, us Tommies (An' all civilians, too), Ter Rive yer this ere welcome. We drink, an' swear, an' chewBut Lor, we knows a white man. An' weave seen a few (The breed Is searre. Sir Redvers). 'Ow do? 'Ow do? 'Ow do? Do lift yer flaps an' buntlngrs, Chuck oft" yer loud hooroo, Yrr pinus Durban people, An' scamps an' wastrols, too. Take out yer raps an' wave 'em Tn reds an' whites an' bin?, ■i<!re comfs Sir Redvera Buller, Hooroo! Hooroo! Hooroo!
