The place |was packed, nearly 3000 people being Iprcsent, while hundreds were unable 31 o gain admission. The volunteers, Fire brigade and Garrison Rand atitended. also the Mayor and Borough Addresses were delivered by the Epvs. (i. Tiond (Wesleyan). it, j"M. Ryburn (Presbyterian), and .T, M. i Marshall (Anglican). Hymns approSpriate to the solemn occasion were Isung by the great assembly, and at tthe dose of the service the "Deadj March" in "Saul" was played by thef band. I WELLINGTON, Thursday.
