PRIMITIVE METHODIST CONFERENCE.
The Primitive Methodist Conference resumed yesterday morning. Votes of thanks were unanimously; passed to (1) the many friends who have entertained the delegates to the conference; (2) to the press, for their courtesy in so fully reporting- tha proceedings of the conference; (3) to all who have rendered any service to the conference and the connexion. It was decided that the Rev. W. Laycocjy should represent the New Zealand Conference at the English Conference of 1902, he having applied for leave to visit England in that year. It was also resolved to endorse the action of the Dunedin Council of Christian. Churches with regard to the introduction of the Word of God into the Government day schools. The following resolution was passed by the Council: "That in order to give the Word of God its due place in the public day schools of the colony, the Council rei solves to do what it can to secure such an amendment of the Education. Act as shall provide for the daily opening of the schools with Bible reading under the supervision of the teachers, and with the Lord's Prayer, along with a, conscience clause."
In the eveningl it was unanimously agreed to readmit the Rev. J. Olpherf to the Primitive Methodist ministry. The Rev. W. Woollass was granted one year's rest.
