WAIKATO MARKETS.
On Tuesday, at Ohaupo, Messrs McNicol and Co. offered about SOO head of cattle of all classes, the majority being calves and yearlings, for which extreme prices were obtained. Only a few pens of three-year-old steers and very few cows were brought forward. The following are the quotations: Dairy cows, £4 15/; springing heifers, £4 5/; two-and-a-half-year-old steers, £4 15/ to £4 17/; two-year-old steers, £4 12/; fifteen - months steers, £3 to £3 5/; three-year-old steers, £5 13/; eighteen-months steers, £2 18/ to £3 6/; good steer calves, from £2 1/ to £2 7/; calves, mixed sexes, 39/ to £2 5/; yearling heifers, £2 10/ to £2 17/6; small calves, mixed sexes, 39/ to £2 5/; yearling heifers, £2 10/ to £2 17/6; cows, £3 2/ to £4 5/; fat heifers, £4 3/ to £5 4/; fat cows, £4 11/ to £5 2/6; small fat steers, £5 16/. Only a few sheep were yarded. Wethers, in wool, brought 14/11; hoggets, in wool, 12/ to 12/5.
