THE SIXTH CONTINGENT.
The call for volunteers to form the Sixth Contingent for South Africa has met with a very hearty response in Auckland, and the fact of considerably over a hundred volunteering- in this district for active service at the front shows that all the hardships and discomforts of campaigning do* not disconrag'e our young'fellows from enlisting1. The point now arises as to the final port of embarkation of the contingent. It has been already urged in our colunins that Auck-
land should have the Honour of ■famvelling the Sixth Contingent.
