Wind:. Moderate to strong from southward at all places. Barometer: Rise everywhere. Sea: Moderate on the East Const north of East Cape. Considerable on all Western Coasts and on the Eastern Coast southward of East Cape.
Tides: Generally good and increasing on the Eastern Coast southward of East Cape. Temperature: Generally lower. Synopsis of the last 24 hours: Slowiy decreasing pressure everywhere, with moderate winds from southward in Uie North Island, and from the northward in the South Island. Rain has fallen in the Northern districts, and thunderstorms have been experienced at Cambridge and Opotiki. Low pressure from the West will pass eastward of the meridian of South Cape lace to-day, and 'one also from the same direction on 3rd January. Strong westerly winds are probable on Ist oi -nJ January. __«™
