The scoring in the junior matches was, taken all round, higher than usual. Two totals of over 200 were recorded—236 by V.M.C.A. A against United 11., and 231 by V.M.C.A. IV. against Surrey Ramblers.
V.M.C.A. A v .United.—V.M.C.A. gave their opponents a lively time of it, totalling -oU, and compelling every man of the opposing team but the wicketkeeper to go on to bowl. The United bowling was weak.
