On Saturday afternoon ■■ a serious iand painful accident Occurred to Mr J. A. McKenzie," a telegraph lineman. ; He was returning hom_ from Maketu, riding along the coast telegraph, when his horse fell, about 12 • miles from '. Tauranga, and McKenzie Was thrown heavily. His horse rolled over hinii breaking his collar bone and badly ,-.-. lacerating his face and eye. Recovering consciousness he managed to remount his horse and ride some miles to a Maori settlement. The natives brought him home. Mr McKenzie is very much shaken by the accident, but it is hoped that no permanent injury is done to his sight. -
