POLICE COURT.

YESTERDAY,

(Before Mr H. W. Brabant, S.M.)

Prohibited.—A prohibition order was granted against Frank Hill, on the application of his wife, and with his own consent.

Maintenance.—John Orel was ordered to pay 10/ a week in support of his wife.' William S. Proves was ordered to pay £1 per week toward the maintenance of his three children. Charles Watt, charged, on the information of Mr Strathern, relieving officer, with neglecting to support his four children, Was ordered to pay 25/ a week towards their maintenance. A prohibition order against the defendant was also granted. The hearing of an action brought against Joseph Carr for neglecting to support an illegitimate child, of whom he is alleged to be the father, occupied all the afternoon, and was eventually adjourned till the following morning.
