INANIMATE PIGEON ASSOCIATION.

A Council meeting of the above association took place last evening, the President (Dr. T. Hope Lewis) occupying the chair. A large, amount of business was got through, and. Inter alia, the conditions and date of shooting for the Inter-club Cup were settled. A very handsome and substantial trophy Is now on view In the window of Mr Hazard's gunsmith shop, Queen-street. It is entirely a local production, the silver coming from the Great Barrier and the workmanship being that of Mr Kohn, the well known jeweller. The first competition for this Cup will take place on November 3rd, and all clubs-affiliated to the association will be eligible to enter one or more teams. The Cup, which is a very massive one, is valued at sixty guineas. On tho 22nd Inst, the "Balllstlte" Cup (presented by Nobel's Explosive Co., through their local agents, Messrs E. Porter and Co.) will be shot for at the association ground, E^sorn, the conditions being, teams of five men, and each man to shoot at 30 birds. A voluminous report on the alterations and additions to proof rules was submitted and dealt with, and the meeting closed with the usual vote of thanks to the chair.
