Drunkenness.—Three first offenders were convicted and discharged. John .'Johnson was fined ">/, or in default 24 hours' hard labour.

Theft. —A young girl named Annie. Tipper was convicted of stealing a. ring, value £2, the property of Horace W. Sanders. Being a first offender she was remanded till Tuesday,, to enable the probation officer to report on her character. — Two boys, named David Roach (1(5) and Gordon Fe/v! on (11) pleaded guilty to stealing £>1 S/. the property of Robert McOarry. of Devouport. 'His Worship, after making enquiries about the boys, ordered Fenton to be committed to the Auckland Industrial School, and Roach tn be sent back to the Takapunu School, with a recommendation to the Education .Department' for, his transference to Nelson. Remanded.—A young man named Langley George Bradley was charged with "supplying Lilian Sherer with potson, with intent to procure a miscarriage, also with failing to make adequate provision for his illegitimate child, of which Lilian Sherer was the mother. Chief Detective Grace appeared for the prosecution, and Mr Parr for the defence. By agreement the case was adjourned till Friday next, accused being granted bail in two sureties1 of £100 each.

A Pensioner in Trouble. —Thos. Gourlay, an elderly, man, was convicted of being found drunk in a public place. —The Sub-Inspector said accused was an old age pensioner, and had been before the Court six times since his pension was,granted.—A fine of 10/, or 4S hours' hard labour was inflicted, and accused was ordered to be present at the sitting of the Pensions Court on Tuesday, when his case would be1 further considered.
