The final gallops Cor the Epsom Handicap and A.J.C. Derby candidates attracted a large crowd to the course at Randwick this morning. The work was done on the course proper, which was a bit heavy, but the going was good. Avid Lang Syne, with her Epsom Handicap weight up, going wide, negotiated a mile in 1.52. Paul Pry galloped the same distance in line .style in 1.503. Severity and Skipper ran over a mile and a Quarter in taking style in 2.21. Reviver compassed a mile comfortably in 1.53. Hautesse took half a second longer over the same distance. St. Clare badly beat First Consul over a mile in 1.505. Melodian ran seven furlongs in 1.40. Hautboy negotiated a mile and aquarter in 2.21!;, beating Lord Rudolph over the last mile in 1.531. Gallina traversed a mile in 1.51. Dandy's owner admits he does not like the aspect of affairs for the Epsom Handicap, but ho hop?s the favourite will pull himself together in the race. SYDNEY, Thursday. While exercising to-day the Epsom Handicap favourite Dandy began bleeding at the nose, and it is supposed that he has broken a blood-vessel in his head. He has been knocked back in the betting to 100 to 7. At the reading of the Epsom Handicap card to-night speculation was spirited. Despite the fact being known that Dandy broke a blood-vessel in h|s head the layers were not disposed to take "liberties with him. After 300 to 24 had been taken about him. ho became firm at 100 to 9. The prices on offer at closing were: 100 to 0 Dandy and Auld Lang Syne, 100 to 7 Allinga, Reviver, Ampler, and Argo: 100 to 6 First Consul and Saraswati: 100 to u£ Melodian.
