TAUPO.

The Domain Board have made a start to improve our Domain, now the money voted is available, and a number of natives have been employed digging and trenching a border all round the Domain, also planting a hedge of prickly trees, which will be an absolute necessity if anything is to be grown, as the incursions of dogs would soon spoil the appearance of any (lower beds. Tho timber for the A.C. Bath is now all on thf ground, and it is to be hoped the contract for the erection nf the building will soon bo out, so as to have this splendid bath available for the forthcoming tourist .season. Mr Hamilton, the Tokaanu schoolmaster, was at Rolongaio to inspect and report on tho native school site there. It is stated the natives of Oranui and Opepo intend returning to Rotongaio to live, as so much sickness at tho former place has been prevalent of late, and quite si number of deaths have also taken place. The weather has been very wet lately, with freauent falls of snow, and the lake level is now higher than for months past enabling the mail steamer to enter the river now with safety, and berth at her old place.
