WELLINGTON, this day,
Wind: Strong from between west ana BOUth-west and south at all places northward of Thames and Manukau, and from between south-west and south and east elsewhere.
Barometer: Rise everywhere.
Sea: Moderate on both coasts,
Tides: Good on East Coast between Castle Point and East Cape; poor everywhere else. Frost is to be expected northward of Tauranga, Tapuo and Raglan, and southward of Napier and New Plymouth; a yery cold night at all other places.
Synopsis of the last 24 hours: Slowly increasing pressure southward of Napier, Taupo and Manukau, but pressure has decrftised a little everywhere else. There has been a hard southerly gale on the coast between Kaikoura and E#st Cape, with rain and very cold weather. Rain has ajso fallen north of Thames and Manukau, but In other parts of the country the weather has been fine, with moderate southerly -winds. Snow has fallen on high country near New Plymouth, and there has been frost in parts of the South island. Low pressure from west Will pass "eastward of the meridian of South Cape about the Sth Inst.
