Power, manager of Mr S Hordern's Wilton Park St#d, from the rupture of a blood vessel in the brain The deceased was a shrewd judge of horses of different breeds, and well versed in all that pertains to them. He visited Auckland on two or three occasions in the interests of Mr Hordern The Wellington Park Stud was further enriched on Sunday last, when a full sister to Screw Gun and True Blue made its acpearance. The stallion Hova, by Ingomar—Happy Land, bred at Auckland, and one of tho fastest horses of his day in Victoria, was sold recently by auction in Melbourne for 290 guineas, Mr T. ChadwicK being the buyer. Training notes to hand state that the ex-Auckland mare Ivorowai is jumping the fences at Randwick very badly. Vocalist was recently backed in Melbourne to win the Caulrield Cup for £500u, starting at 100's to 1£ and finishing at 100 to 4. St. Puul and Eoseila are a fancied pair for the Avondale Cup. The will of Mr W. E. Wilson, of St. Albans, who died on May 28 last, has been lodged for probate. The estate is valued at £(x!, 554 10/1, consisting of £21,585 reality and £41,999 19/1 personalty. The horses purchased at the St. Albans sale by Mr C. L. Macdonald will continue to be trained at St. Albans until the estate is sold. Mr Macdouald's colours are black, rose sleeves and cap. At a meeting of the committee of the Dunodin Jockey Club last night, 11 applications were received for the position of handieapper. On a ballot Mr George Dowso was re-appointed. Mr H. Piper was appointed starter. A Press Association cablegram from Melbourne says: "The estate of the late Mi' Alfred Joseph, the Victorian bookmaker, who recently died in London, has been sworn for probate at £71,800."
