COROMANDEL.
A public meeting of ratepayers .will'be held on Wednesday evening to discuss Ferham's scheme to provide a domestic water supply for the town. The supply will be obtained from Cadman's Creek; which affords ample elevation at a conipa* ratively short distance from the township; The water, on analysis, proved to'be of excellent quality. The total cost of the scheme is set down at £8000. A loan cover;', ing this amount has been arranged by the Council with the Government at 3* cent, for a term of 41 years. A special rate of lid in the £ i:-; to bo offered as security but it is thought that the charge to he made" for the use of the water will probably raise sufficient to meet all costs of -interest a&d maintenance. . . ■•. .
