KIHIKIHI.
The monthly meeting of the Town Board was held on Friday last. Mr Swarbriok, solicitor, wrote on the subject of the titles to lots 4, 135 and 298. He said, on searching, he found that nothing had been registered, leaving the impression that the lots In question were Crown lands.— Tho Board commented strongly on the neglect of the Lands Department regarding these lots, as it is a well known fact that the lots had been granted to militiamen. The question of compelling owners to clear frontages' was deferred pending the passing of the Noxious Weeds Act. It was decided to lease the allotment within the Domain, containing' 4 acres, to Mr Rysdale, at a rental of 10/ a year. It was decided to repair Grey-street and from Hall-street to the adjacent hollow, also to form Ballance-tjtreet. Mr Moody reported that Mr Compstone objected to land for a tetihis court being taken from the allotment leased by him from the Board. The weather was most unfavourable for the meet of the Waikato Hounds, held here on Saturday last. Nevertheless there were a large number of sportsmen present, and several good runs were obThe supply of milk to the Kihiklhl creamery for the month of August was 5200 gallons. The present daily supply is over 300 gallons. Constable Carroll, who has been stationed here for some years, is about to be transferred and promoted to an Auckland suburban station. Const, Carroll will leave here with an enviable reputation as a straight and impartial officer.
