NORTHERN BOOT AND SHOE COMPANY.
In moving the adoption of the report at the annual meeting1 of the Northern Boot and Shoe Manufacturing Company (Ltd.), yesterday afternoon, the Chairman, Mr Geo. Winst'one, said the main facts had been placed before the shareholders in a very concise form, fairly and truthfully representing' the position of the Company.
Mr 11. C. Carr seconded the adoption of the reports.
Mr Maxwell commented tipoii the large amount paid ill discount and interest.
Mr Hodgson explained that owing to the state of trade people were generally in a better position to pay.cash and save the discount. At the same time some £2G less had been paid under that head than in 1899.
The report and balance sheet were adopted, and the retiring- directors, Mr W. S. Wilson and Mr C. 1?. Stone, were l'e-eleeted. Mr C. A. Jonas was also re-appointed auditor.
